Trying To use this thing (once again)
Hey!!!! I haven't logged on in quite some time....UGH! I am aweful about that, I know.... As I have said before, I am mostly a Myspacer, but I am even using that less and less often lately, as well...I have turned to live video cam. I can visit with my friends and family in real time, and that is even BETTER!
Anyhow, I was trying to comment on Jen's profile on the pics we all took! I had a BLAST that weekend and miss everyone SO MUCH....and I REALLY miss Lilly's cooking!!! ;-)
Mom wants to go to the gulf coast on my birthday weekend (Labor Day), but I am not sure if we will be able to make it....Rumor has it that Joey's job will be laying off another 30% at the end of the month...we are trying to hang on to our assets during the rough economy! ACK! Just another bump in the road to life, I guess....We will make it with God's good grace, but it will take us a bit to get there again. I have to say, we have had a blessed couple of years while it lasted. I just pray that we will get through this tough time.
Skyler is enjoying his summer, but I wish I could be home with him like I was last summer. I will miss our trips to the water park and the other places that we visited. Maybe next year will be a better one ;-) Crossing fingers ;-)
I sure hope we can all get together again soon! I NEED this family time in my life right now.....

I QUIT!!!!
Well, some things have changed since the recovery of our dog.....
I am VERY happy to say that he is doing SO MUCH better.....He is running around like a puppy again, and is doing FANTASTIC!!!
However, I could not handle the stress of working for a vets office. So much happens in there. The Vet that I was working for was not what you would expect someone who cared for animals to be, and it simply did not work well with my stomach, mind and body.....
Basically, I started to physically shut down due to the stress of everything. I was physically sick for over a week, completely missed a monthly cycle (even though I was not PG), and it was not a good situation....
Anyhow...I went on an interview today, and landed another job (doing accounting) again. Hopefully it will work out better for ALL of us.....you KNOW what they say...."If Mom isn't happy, NO ONE is happy" ;-) LOL.....

Our Dog Doo Doo

I know it has been a while...but here is an update on what has been going on in my world, lately....
I went back to work about a month ago....I got a job in a vets office. It is OK, but the good part about it, is that I landed it, "just in time". Our 130 lb. Norweign lab, Doo Doo (aka Sampson), got REALLY super sick. When I brought him to work with me that day, I found out that our sweet dog had to have a blood transfusion!!! I was shocked! Anyhow...I actually got to help with this process, (as squimish as I was, we needed THREE people, and guess who # 3 was...yeah...ME!) ACK! But I wanted our pooch to live ;-)
We didn't think he would survive it. About three days later, he was actually WORSE than when I had brought him in. We made the decision that if he was going to "go", that we wanted him to be at home, with us, and the other dog that he had been with all of his life, Mutley.
We brought home our baby, with full intentions of losing him, to whatever was ailing him. I would sit on the floor with him and hand feed him chicken and rice, hamburger, etc. We had been given some anti-biotics and a red-blood cell booster. Within a couple of days, we started seeing some improvement....and after about 4 days, he was heading through the road of recovery.
Since his transfusion, he is doing MUCH better. He has become a "house dog" now, though, because it is getting colder, and I don't want him to get sick again.
We don't know what caused his illness. We know that he had some internal bleeding, but it has healed and he is doing well, so far......
That has been the big thing that we are going through over the last couple of weeks.

What we have been up to....

Hey everyone!!! I have been getting ready for "back to school". Skyler and I went clothes shopping and he found all the cool stuff that he wanted...Abercrombie, Hollister and Aeropostal shirts.....we had a No TAX day here, and took advantage of that.
We are also planning his 10th birthday party. We are going to do another swim party at the rec. center we have here ;-) It is just too hot outside to not include water ;-) He has decided on a a "football" theme, and wants ME to make a Football cake...this outta be interesting! LOL He said that MY cakes are better than The Cheesecake Factory cakes, and insisted on me baking one for his big day....I don't know about ALL THAT, but I guess Duncan Hines is a hit in my house ;-) ROFL....Joey said the same thing....I have made cakes from scratch...frosting from scratch, but nothing topped the box and can of premade stuff that you add water, eggs, oil, and some secret other stuff....I think it is all in the bottled water I use ;-) LOL....(Eye roll)
I will post pics ;-)
Other than that, nothing else has changed much...I am still at home, but will be finding a new job once Skyler is in school....I think I would pull my hair out sitting here all day by myself.
My sister-in-law gave me a picture that she took with her camera (above) , of me in my faux pas fashion crisis outfit.....thought I'd share it...Connie will appreciate this one, because she ALWAYS loved the way I dressed myself when I was 5!!!! LOL... If you look real close you will see that I am wearing BOOTS with Capri's. Soooo Sexy, isn't it? ROFL.... Hey! If you are gonna play with cows, you MUST wear BOOTS, right?????
I miss you guys!!!!!

I'm still here! ;-)
Hey everyone!! I am Still here! We have had company ....I have come to the realization that I am too old for little ones, and my house isn't even remotely CLOSE to being "child proofed" even though I still technically have a child in the house, ROFL....
I think I will stick with cats.....which we are happily thinning out on.....we only have 6 outside cats now, as oppossed to 15 outside cats!!! YEAH! We have been giving them to people who like them for chasing mice, rats and snakes away from barns and such.
Nothing new and exciting here.....we are getting ready for school to start August 14th, and for Skyler's 10th birthday on August 18th. I am not sure where we will have it, or what theme it will be, but he is getting excited. Last year we had a swimming party at the recreation center here, but I am not sure what he wants to do this year. Maybe skating????
Other than that, all is well!!!!!

I have been TERRIBLE about posting!!!

I know, I know, I have been SO BAD about blogging on here! Sorry!!!
We have been doing a lot of summer activities lately.....We bought season passes to two theme parks...one is kind of an "Old West" theme (think Knott's Berry Farm) and the other one is White Water Bay.....We have had a BLAST!
Summer is going by too quickly!!! That is for SURE! Come August, when school starts, I might actually have to get out there and get a part time job once again...YUCK! I am getting used to this stay at home Mommie stuff ;-)
Anyhow....I miss all of you!!! And I will try to be better about the blogging thing ;-)

Emotional Week!
Well, last Wednesday, I got a call that I had been anticipating for 16 years... I got a call from my daughter, Hanna.
I have been in Hanna's life since she was born, but knew that I could not give her the life that I so desperately wanted her to have. I did not want her to live with the things that I had survived, and made the hardest decision I have ever had to make, and that was to give her to my loving friends, who have been awesome parents to her. Imagine giving birth to a brand new baby that you loved so much, so desperately, then handing her to someone else.....heartbreaking? Absolutely. It left a void and a hole in my heart for a very loooong time, even though I knew I was making the best choice I could for the one person I loved more than anything.
I have seen my daughter MANY MANY times through the years...Her first year, we met up for lunches and dinners, etc. We celebrated her first birthday together, over the course of several years it went on this way. When I had Skyler they visited us at my Grandmothers, and I have beautiful pictures of our 4 generations (My Grandma on dad's side, my Dad, Me, Hanna and Skyler). It would be the last time we ever had that moment, because my Grandma passed away 2 years later.
I watched my daughter in her school plays. I saw her perform her awesome dance productions, and even attended one of her church ceremonies when she was 13. I saw her again a year later when she was 14...but then I moved away. Talk about hard to do...I knew it would be quite a while until I could see the first love of my life again...the one that I loved more than even myself.
Even though I saw my daughter, she had no idea that I was her birth Mom. I was simply a "family friend". And that was a missing piece for me.
On May 14th, I got a phone call that would change all of that...The one where she found out who I was for real, and we spoke for quite a while...twice, actually. She found me on Myspace within an hour, and we added each other to our pages as quick as we could....
My final "piece" placed in the puzzle of my complicated life. It has been amazing, yet overwhelming at the same time. So many floods of emotion have overcome me this week. From joy, to saddness, and everything in between....
In the meantime,
This week Skyler became a 5th grader....we got his awards, one of which included a Principal's Award for maintaining straight A's ALL YEAR LONG!!!! YEAH, SKYLER!!!!! He has done SO well this year...I am SO PROUD!
He has been so understanding through all of this, and today when he came in and saw that I wasn't "quite right", he decided that he was going to change the mood in the household......He logged into his online page, started blasting a song called "Gummy Bear" and launched himself into the most hysterical wanna be stripper, crazy dance routine that I had ever seen. This boy really knows how to change the atmosphere, he always has, lol.
From the moment that I found out that I was pregnant with Skyler, even though things were not the most opportune, he has been my light at the end of every tunnel that I have gone through. His infectious smile melts my heart and takes my breath away, even when he does something wrong.....
I absolutely love my kids! What an emotional roller coaster this week has been!!!!
****UPDATE AS of later in the day******
More news...I just got a call from my daughters adoptive Mom...after 20-some years of marriage, they have decided to split. While I know that people do go through this, I am sad for them.....I am in shock right now. I just got the call from her a few minutes ago, and it is just settling into my brain.
This is so much to have happened all in one week....my daughter's head must be spinning as much as mine is, and I am an adult. Wow....what happens now? I guess we just continue on, and support one another, like we always do....
Hanna's Mom came to the hospital during one of the most painful times of my life...losing my Grandmother...She helped me get through that tragedy, now I hope I can be here to help her.
They say that adoption is a life long process....they were right.

Give and Take.....
Tonight before we went to bed, I realized that it was trash night....The little light in my head went off like a Blue light special in K-Mart...
"Honey..." I said....looking for the obvious response....
"Yes Dear...." I know he is thinking, "What does she want me to do now?"
I state the obvious....
"Ya know I was thinking....since we have such a Give and Take relationship, how about I GIVE you the trash from in the house, and you can TAKE it out to the street?"
At least it got a laugh outta him...and I got the trash taken out without having to ask 15 times.......

Update
I have had so much going on in my mind today that I really wasn't sure what to blog about....so many touchy subjects to deliver to my pages, yet, I know that sometimes I need to just let things roll until I can put them into a story here.
Once again, I didn't DO a whole lot today...this is going to get real old, real quick...however my SUV is having "issues" of which, hopefully tonight will be fixed.....Joey has a friend who was a mechanic for Ford for YEARS before he started working with him...anyhow...they are going to attempt to fix the problem tonight, and I was rather nervous to drive the thing since they said it sounded like the wheel bearing was about to "lock up"....whatever the heck that means....What I heard was...."If you DRIVE this thing before we fix it, you will find yourself 'huffing it' in 80 degree humid sauna weather". No thanks....I can see my make-up melting off my face as I picture that....
I did catch some rays today...I only stayed out for about an hour because I am about as white as a baby's butt right now. Next week we have my step sons graduation to attend. Since leaving Cali, I now experience "seasons"....They are HOT as HELL and COLD as ICE, and when you are as little as I have gotten, "pale" doesn't look so good. I am already aware that I will hear all the anorexia comments, because for some reason people here in OK think that you need to weigh 550 lbs to be HEALTHY....I am also very aware that my husbands ex wife will promplty go into "trash the new wife" mode and come up with any and every absurd nasty remark she can, and tell everyone about this "drug problem" that suddenly begun, as of the moment that I walked into the room at her ex husband's side. Small towns thrive on drama, and she is the queen of it all. It doesn't matter if it is fact or fiction for her to slam into "overdrive" and "over the top".
While I am excited to see my husbands eldest son go through this big event in his life...I am, however, dreading the aftermath of my pressence. I just don't want there to be any drama for him on his big day.
That is what is transpiring in my life at the moment ;-) Sounds like a ball, doesn't it ;-) haha!

Cakes and More
Well, I haven't been up to much lately....I hurt my upper back/ neck area pretty badly....I went to a chiropractor, and it made me nauseated...I always get that way when they do ANYTHING medically to me..or if I See anything medically being done....Sour stomach at its worst....he said my back issue is due to me being on the computer too much....so I have been trying to stay off some....anyone who knows me though, knows that in itself is a challange for me...I LOVE my puter!!!
Mom is having a little get together at thier house for some of the Moose members...she asked me to make a cake for the party, and this is what I came up with, LOL:

It wasn't as fun to make as the Easter cake and cupcakes I made in March:

But, it keeps me entertained at least. I would LOVE to attend a cake decorating class!!!! I think it would be a blast! ;-)
Here are a couple more cakes I have attempted, my, ahem, "expertise" is quite simple...They actually taste better than they look...LOL:

Update
Well, yesterday we went to a Moose Lodge event. Mom and Dale volunteered for a March of Dimes charity thing...I helped by taking my jewelry making supplies to keep the kids entertained. We had fun..there was a TON of free food and a live band.
We also joined our local recreation center here...they have an indoor pool, jaquzzi, raquet ball courts, a game room for the kids equipt with Wii's, playstations and more. This place is absolutely HUGE. They have an indoor walking track and gym, and hopefully I can get Joey to go with me and walk sometime. This rec center was one of the biggest reasons that I wanted to move here, but we didn't join it until just this weekend (we have been here a year and a half already!) Talk about procrastinating a little, lol.
We have been trying to get our yard under control....2 1/2 acres catches up to us pretty quick, and it gets away from us even faster...I really didn't want this much land, but Joey wanted to feel like he was "in the country". (sigh) Like the 120 acres he has near Boswell wasn't enough "country" for him....we have that up for sale, though.
Other than that, we are counting down the days until summertime!! I am getting ready with my sunscreen, new chairs for laying out, our water toys for Skyler and even bathing suit shopping...I need new clothes now too, since I lost so much weight....Joey threw all of my old clothes out last summer, because we thought that I would NEVER fit into them again......They are all out of style now anyhow, lol....(good excuse, right???)

Dating in school!
Sooo, Skyler is in the 4th grade now, and I am SHOCKED by how "old" these kids act.....they are even saying they have "boyfriends/ girlfriends" and some have blogs on "Bebo", and know how to do all of the blogger stuff, etc.
Last night Skyler wanted to "blog" to a girl he likes from his class. I set him up a little page, but he doesn't have full access to it, without me being there...he can't log in himself, nor does he have his own e-mail....I have to be the one loggin in, and doing the typing, etc. That is just the RULE in our house.
I am just shocked at what some of the parents let their children do online....these little kids are on there talking about who they have kissed, etc.!!! I didn't kiss a boy until I was AT LEAST 13 or so...nor did I have any interest in kissing one....they still were GROSS back then.
Am I behind the times??? I am going to watch his online use because of the obvious reasons...but I am still in shock at what kids are doing today.

Reponses....
I am glad that we are able to stay in touch this way, this is pretty cool! I still am not sure how to respond to the posts that you all give me...right now I am just posting a comment within my blog, back to you, etc...This is still more complicated than my other blogs....but I will get the hang of it ;-)

Land Run
Skyler had a little school event called "The Land Run". They all got dressed up and had to run out and "stake their land"....
I was in charge of jewelry making...(it was a HUGE HIT!) and the kids pretty much stationed themselves there for most of the day, lol.... They ate hotdogs, cookies, chips and had to go to different towns and do different things like watermellon spitting, horse-shoe throw, obstacle course, croquet, cow patty toss, etc.....
They had their OWN covered wagons and spent about 3 hours outside, eating, playing and making jewelry.
I tried to post pictures, however it didn't let me..I will try again later....I guess there is some problem with the site....
