Well, yesterday we went to a Moose Lodge event. Mom and Dale volunteered for a March of Dimes charity thing...I helped by taking my jewelry making supplies to keep the kids entertained. We had fun..there was a TON of free food and a live band.
We also joined our local recreation center here...they have an indoor pool, jaquzzi, raquet ball courts, a game room for the kids equipt with Wii's, playstations and more. This place is absolutely HUGE. They have an indoor walking track and gym, and hopefully I can get Joey to go with me and walk sometime. This rec center was one of the biggest reasons that I wanted to move here, but we didn't join it until just this weekend (we have been here a year and a half already!) Talk about procrastinating a little, lol.
We have been trying to get our yard under control....2 1/2 acres catches up to us pretty quick, and it gets away from us even faster...I really didn't want this much land, but Joey wanted to feel like he was "in the country". (sigh) Like the 120 acres he has near Boswell wasn't enough "country" for him....we have that up for sale, though.
Other than that, we are counting down the days until summertime!! I am getting ready with my sunscreen, new chairs for laying out, our water toys for Skyler and even bathing suit shopping...I need new clothes now too, since I lost so much weight....Joey threw all of my old clothes out last summer, because we thought that I would NEVER fit into them again......They are all out of style now anyhow, lol....(good excuse, right???)

Dating in school!
Sooo, Skyler is in the 4th grade now, and I am SHOCKED by how "old" these kids act.....they are even saying they have "boyfriends/ girlfriends" and some have blogs on "Bebo", and know how to do all of the blogger stuff, etc.
Last night Skyler wanted to "blog" to a girl he likes from his class. I set him up a little page, but he doesn't have full access to it, without me being there...he can't log in himself, nor does he have his own e-mail....I have to be the one loggin in, and doing the typing, etc. That is just the RULE in our house.
I am just shocked at what some of the parents let their children do online....these little kids are on there talking about who they have kissed, etc.!!! I didn't kiss a boy until I was AT LEAST 13 or so...nor did I have any interest in kissing one....they still were GROSS back then.
Am I behind the times??? I am going to watch his online use because of the obvious reasons...but I am still in shock at what kids are doing today.

Reponses....
I am glad that we are able to stay in touch this way, this is pretty cool! I still am not sure how to respond to the posts that you all give me...right now I am just posting a comment within my blog, back to you, etc...This is still more complicated than my other blogs....but I will get the hang of it ;-)

Land Run
Skyler had a little school event called "The Land Run". They all got dressed up and had to run out and "stake their land"....
I was in charge of jewelry making...(it was a HUGE HIT!) and the kids pretty much stationed themselves there for most of the day, lol.... They ate hotdogs, cookies, chips and had to go to different towns and do different things like watermellon spitting, horse-shoe throw, obstacle course, croquet, cow patty toss, etc.....
They had their OWN covered wagons and spent about 3 hours outside, eating, playing and making jewelry.
I tried to post pictures, however it didn't let me..I will try again later....I guess there is some problem with the site....

Don't know if any of you heard the story of my ever-gross messed up septic system, but we are FINALLY getting the stupid thing fixed FIRST THING TOMORROW!!! YEAHHHHHH!!!! We have had problems with the stupid thing since the FIRST TIME I ever ran the laundry right after we bought this house....
Had some estimates quoted at $5000 to repair it, etc....Finally, we got a guy to come out and he quoted us $1800 to fix it!!! OH YEAH!!!!! I pulled the permit from the city last week and now we will be able to have the problem fixed!!!!!
I am soooo excited I could....uh....never mind ;-) You get the point!

First Sleepover...
Well, I survived our first sleepover.....Skyler got through the night and had a ball....I learned that he is growing up and will stay the night over at his friends' houses, and will make it back in one piece in the morning.....
I didn't sleep very well last night though....I am not sure I like this "growing up" stuff.......
It gives me gray hair.

Nothing....
Nothing. That is what I want to do today....
Somehow, I doubt that will happen.
Skyler is going to his first sleep over at his friends' house tonight...I am a little nervous about it, but I figure he can bring his phone with him and call me if he wants me to come and get him. Yeah...my 9 year old has a phone...a razor, that is nicer than mine....this is what happens when Dad tries to "out do" Mom....kids get things like cell phones with all the features they have no use for. Half of the time he forgets he even HAS the thing. I guess that is better than him talking on it non-stop...then again, that would require him to take the Gameboy out of his hand....I think it is super glued to his palm. When I was a teenager, my Dad used to tell me that I had a phone growning out of my ear, too, so I guess all kids have thier "things".
Joey is on his way back home from going to see his parents. I need little breaks every now and then so I don't mind him going "home" for a couple of days here or there.....I was a single Mom for so long that sometimes I just need "me" time.....plus then, I don't have those 15 loads of wash cloths to launder either. I wonder what would happen if I hid ALL of the wash cloths, lol....Would he go into a panick, lol....Hmmmmm.... Nah, he'd probably go out and BUY more wash cloths. This is probably why we have so many of the stupid little things....Seriously...my mother-in-law helped me unpack my linen closet and she said she had never seen anyone with so many wash cloths....Apparently cloth monster wasn't born in HER house....so what gives????
I am off to start my day.....and maybe hide the wash cloths before he gets here....hehe! ;-)

Trespassing on my Zen
I had this on my Myspace the other day, and thought some of you might get a kick out of how I spend my time now that I am not working, lol.....
So here I was today....had my day all planned out..The kid was gone to school, the hubby off to work and I was zoning out watching make-up application videos on the Chanel website. (yep, this is the stupid stuff I do when I don't work....I watch odd things on the internet)....I had my fire in the house going (because, for SOME reason it was, like 45 degrees outside this morning). I had my Pro-Activ white face mask on to clean out the pores and keep my complexion beautiful and my towel on my head. I was just chilling...I could have used a nice glass of ice water with lemon and orange slices in it, like they do in some spa's, but my Dasani was working for me at the moment. There I sat, with my feet up on the desk, water in hand, towel on head, relaxation music going, couple of candles lit, my house nice and toasty. Ahhhhhhhh.........I have a home spa going on right here.
Nothing could be better.
All of the sudden, WHO shows up? My hubby....he is home early from work, and is on a roll....did you feed the dogs, did you feed the cats, did you do any laundry today? Why is it so dark in here???? What is that MUSIC??? Oh, did you call the septic tank guy? As he steps inside, leaves the door WIIIIDE open, he walks directly over to my fireplace and turns it off.......Next to go is the music...............he is messing up my MOMENT, TOTALLY!!!!!!!!!!! He is like a dang bull in a china shop just knocking all the pretty things over....
My normally quiet husband is on the "did you do it " roll....
"WHAAAAAAT AAAARRRRRE YOU DOING??? " Comes rolling out of my mouth as he has just trespassed upon my "Zen".
He looks at me like a kid in trouble, and says "Uh....it's like 100 degrees in here, P (short for Princess)....... Annnd, what the heck is on your face....you look like casper!"
There I stand, in my towels, white mask on my face with water in hand shivering because the cold is running up underneath my towel that is wrapped around me...... "Nice to see you too, honey"......
Zen moment gone...back to reality....
Finally, he sits down, takes his shoes off and I am scrambled...I get dressed, put on my make-up and come back into the living room..... guess who is SNORING in his dang recliner.....Oh yeah....he is GETTING the wet finger in the ear!!!

Still feel like a new-born on here!
This is sooo cool, but I am having a hard time responding back to some of you who have posted comments on mine....
I am so glad you were able to make it to my page Davy!!! I was disappointed that you weren't home when I called the other night, but Jen and I had a good chat for quite a while ;-) It was nice to catch up!
I am doing as little as possible today...I don't even want to be around MYSELF today, as I am a little "under the weather" right now....I can't decide if salt or chocolate will fix this problem, but advil is my friend right now....UGH!
I am taking Skyler to get his hair cut today....that's big news, eigh?
We do have a new addition to our family of pets. Skyler just got a lizard.
We now have 100 cats...ok, maybe only 7 (outside only) and two dogs...oh, and one cat that lives inside, as he is my California cat....he has never been outside and gets terrified if you even try to put him out.
Oh...and I was on Connie's page...the ear thing looks pretty freaking gross, but I think I MAY just have to try that.....What is WRONG with our family that we like gross things????? Soooo nasty!!!! LOL
I can't believe Josh is 21 now!!!! CRAP! This just isn't right...I feel REALLY old now!!!
I have to go and figure out something to do with my water retention somehow, and get Skyler to STOP whinning about being BOOOOOOOORRRRRED.....he is trying to fanagle another DS game out of me....he only has 50 of the stupid things ;-)

What I have done today....
Laundry....I don't think there is a three person family in the US that has as much laundry as this family...I swear that I have done my 15th load for the week...
I believe this because my husband has a wash cloth and towel fettish...I understand not using the same wash cloth to wash your body with, each and every day, but....does he need THREE wash clothes each and every day???? Or a NEW towel every SINGLE day??? I can use the same towel for a couple of days...then again......I am the one doing the laundry.
I also understand that he and my son need clean CLOTHES each day....Skyler plays in the dirt, wipes his food on his clothes, etc. Joey works in oil and grease, and they both need new pants and shirts....however what I CAN'T understand is....wearing it for two hours then sticking it in the hamper on the weekends or times when they are not at school or work! I guess I should be happy that the clothes even MAKE it to the hamper, because I am aware of countless wives who complain that their loved ones can't seem to locate one, even though they are located in convenient places all around their homes.
Oh well, this is what I did today...that, and uh....watch the Home Improvement channel...I LOVE home make-over shows and DESPERATELY want to be on one!!!!! I love decorating and can do a decent job if I had the money that I needed...but these people come up with crafty, cool ideas with little, to no money at all, and that is what makes me go....WHOA....COOOL! I wanna DO THAT!!!! I love being creative and being crafty....that is my interest, but I just haven't had the "push" or "encouragement", I guess, to actually DO something with it.......
I recently took a test that said that I was "creative", "unconventional" and would not be happy working under someone else with "direct supervision" because I was too "creative" annnnnnnd (this was a gem) it said that I am supposedly, "unrealistic".......great......my lucky husband.....It is telling me that I am someone who wants to do what they want to do, WHEN I want to do it, and am totally unrealistic about what the heck it is I want to do! Lucky us....Good thing HE is the bread winner, eigh????? So much for my accounting career...that SOOOO doesn't follow the path of that, but now I understand why I felt like a caged animal doing that line of work......sure I made GREAT money at it....but I HATED it....I understand and "get" the numbers part, I just hate the "supervision part" and being told what to do, plus, to be honest, the work absolutely BORES me out of my mind. It was kinda like pumping gas for the 100th time in my life......BOOOORRRRRING! I could seriously fall asleep at my desk and it gave me neck cramps!!!!! My neck is still recovering from the stress of my last job.....
Anyhow...I could go on and on with my blog because I can talk till the cows come home....but I will end this one for now...until next time, my mundane tasks meet these pages again.....

Finally getting the hang of it!
OK! I am slowly starting to get a hang of this thing now...it is really simple...but, I guess in my mind I am trying to make it harder than it is....
Now that I have a hang of this whole thing, I can get down to blogging ;-) Oh, lucky readers....LOL (yeah right!)
We had a VERY good day today! I could say it was a really CRAPPY, day, but in all honesty, it was a GOOD crappy day...does that make any sense? Let me get to the point...we are FINALLY, after a year and 1/2 getting our septic tank fixed!!!! WHOOHOOOOOO!!! Now you see why I say we had kind of a "crappy day?" We have had issues with our home since the first two weeks we bought this darn place, and we are FINALLY able to get at least ONE problem resolved....THANK YOU, LORD!!!!! I have been doing a lot of praying lately, and although this seems like a strange thing to blog about, I am VERY excited about it!
We have been through a rough couple of years trying to get our feet on the ground, but finally things are really starting to come together...we bought our home in October of 2006, and little by little we are getting things shaped up!!! It is SOOOOO exciting!
This last year has been a real turning point for our family and it has been a whirlwind...from buying our home, to new jobs, then to me now becoming a stay at home Mom....it has been CRAZY, but FUN!!!!!
There is always something for me to blog about though, so here we goooooo!
